Celo Foundation Supports Atlantis World With a Grant to Build a First of its Kind Metaverse Nation
We’re excited to announce that the Celo Foundation has supported Atlantis World with a grant to build a home, hub and showcase for the Celo ecosystem inside of the metaverse as well as a revolutionary (first of its kind) digital nation!
People globally will be able to visit the Celo HQ, even on mobile, and learn about the ecosystem as well as connect to the Celo RPC for the first time inside of their Web3 wallet.
Non-player characters (NPCs) have been scripted to teach users about Celo, and not only that- we re-built something similar to chainlist.org to enable users to seamlessly connect to new blockchains with 3 or 4 clicks inside of the game!
We’re also integrating the leading Web3 applications on Celo and building quests / designing incentives so that users can be rewarded for interacting with and learning about these kinds of applications and use cases in-game…
Imagine every time a user is guided through the process of using a DeFi protocol (such as Moola) by a scripted non-player character, exploring the Web3 ecosystem as an MMORPG game world, they might earn some tokens, an NFT badge or wearable or an in-game perk (such as a mount, super-power or any other kind of experience enhancer).
Beyond DeFi, we’ll also integrate DEXs like Ubeswap and enable users to trade NFTs on popular marketplaces, etc.
Celo native DAOs will also leverage this to increase participation in their governance, especially when combined with other Atlantis World features like token-gating and voice chat, inside of custom and properitary clubhouses.
Celo Nation
As part of this revolutionary grant scope, we’ll build a first of its kind digital nation for the Celo ecosystem inside of the metaverse populated by the leading Web3 apps, projects, communities and DAOs building on Celo.
It will be a map-sized special zone of Atlantis World governed by Celo builders with DAOs, DEXs, NFT marketplaces, and DeFi protocols integrated in-game (as well as other applications and tooling from across the Web3 stack).
Users will be able to explore Celo Nation and in the future earn rewards for using / learning about different apps and being onboarded into the ecosystem! It’s also a great place for meet ups and social events, powered by token-gating and voice chat.
